The Problem with Woodchucks in the Western New York Area
Woodchucks (also known as groundhogs) belong to the group of large ground squirrels known as marmots, and are known for their burrowing habits, which can be disastrous for gardens, foundations, and farms. Not only can a woodchucks burrowing undermine the foundation of a structure, but their diet also consists of many commonly grown vegetables, which can make them a scourge for gardens. On top of that, their dens have been known to turn into homes for other pests, such as foxes, skunks, and rabbits.
